Daily Insights
The purpose of the Daily Insight feature, of the Kenpo Journal, is to provide you with an opportunity to isolate a single "Ed Parker Insight into Kenpo" on a daily basis.
The daily insight may be a word, a saying, or an analogy. It may be the theme from a technique, a principle of motion, or a quote from an interview. Everyday is different, and every day will bring you closer to understanding the art of Kenpo and the man who dedicated his life to its refinement.
If a term pops up you can look that term up in the Dictionary of Terms, then click on "Find Term in Techniques" and the Kenpo Journal will immediately isolate every technique in the system that uses that term and highlight the term in red. This is a great opportunity to see how Mr. Parker actually used these terms in his vocabulary of motion.
If the theme of a technique pops up, take a few minutes to study that technique. Read the technique and the technique notes, then make a few notes of your own in the "Personal Note" section of the journal.
I encourage you to open the journal every day and, if for no other reason to read the daily insight and close it again.
But when you do open the journal for study, take a few minutes to delve into the daily insight and learn something new, or verify, and reinforce something you already know.
